I have a love-hate relationship with my skin. I don’t always treat it well. Occasionally the guilt creeps in and I either go on an expensive skin product spree or meticulously scrub my face. Till I grow weary lazy again. Horrible, I know! And it doesn’t help that I don’t have porcelain smooth skin to even begin with!
Well, when Cetaphil approached me and offered a trial pack, I was willing to try (though not expecting very much).
In the trial pack, I received the following:
- Gentle Skin Cleanser (29ml)
- Moisturising Cream (15g)
- UVA/UVB Defense (5ml).
I was most impressed with the Gentle Skin Cleanser!
It looks so simple. So no frills. But good things do come in nondescipt packages! Cetaphil’s slogan is “Every Age. Every Stage. Every Day.” This Gentle Skin Cleanser doesn’t have a fancy name – but sure does its job well! This product was developed by skin specialists, and can be used with or without water. I’ve tried non-water cleansing products, and they’ve always seemed to leave this sticky film on my face. This cleanser works its magic well, and didn’t have that "sticky” feeling after that – even without using water to rinse. I thought that was pretty amazing. Best of all, it made quick work of make-up removal.
Quick skin tip: Don’t make the mistake of thinking that “squeaky-clean” feeling after you clean your face is GOOD. It is actually BAD for your skin, as harsh cleansers which remove the dirt also strip your skin of essential moisture it needs, which may eventually lead to redness, dryness and itchiness.
I also liked the Moisturizing Cream. I decided to put it to a “tough” test, and used it on a horridly dry spot – my elbows! Yucks! – and after application, my elbows felt so… supple and smooth! Thumbs up from me! I loved it so much I lathered it liberally all over my legs… so this is a product I will definitely be getting off the shelves!
The Sun Protection cream, coming at a respectable SPF 50, was also tested. Now, coming from someone as lazy as myself, you can imagine how high an importance I place on sun protection… Haha! But this product applied on easily and smoothly and well, I am just happy to be making some small improvement.
