Change

How do you react to change?

Some people thrive on change. Some hate and resist it. Some overthink the issue. Some underthink the issue.

I am somehow stuck in the middle of these. I once heard a wise man say that change is the only constant in life. And oh boy, doesn’t that ring true? It was pretty tough to bear when in school or just starting work, and even getting married and starting a brand new life with the man or woman of your dreams. But parenthood has a whole different ring on it.

From no kids to make the plunge to have one kid… major change. Change of mindset, change of attitude, and a change in lifestyle, sleeping patterns, just about everything, really.

And from one kid to have a second? Another truckload of changes to make!

I once had a friend who told me there wasn’t a difference between the second and the third kid. And I know of others who’d beg to differ!

Hey, Sandra! Sorry you aren't feeling well. I always look forward to reading your insightful words every week. I think I am also a "creature of habit" who resist change, but I also know that without taking the leap and accepting a change, you may miss out on so many of life's blessings. Like having children! If we hadn't taken the leap to have that first child, I can't even bear to think of all that we would have missed out on. And of course, the same goes for the second. I am sure if I took the leap for the third, I'd feel the same. Each of these kids is such a blessing and has added so much to our family and our lives. I love that you and I feel so similarly about the gift of motherhood. It is a great bond to share!

True! Change is the only constant in our lives. What matters most is how we react to these changes.

Change is something that is ongoing in our lives. As long as we have the right attitude and embrace it there is nothing beyond us which we cannot cope with.

I think I'm also stuck in the middle. There are times I welcome change, and there are moments that I am reluctant for such. I guess it depends on what kind of changes are about to unfold. All in all, I think change is good as it teaches us to adapt and be flexible.

We don't have any choice, but to embrace the changes that we encounter in life. Some are easy and some are hard, but then again it's part of the thing called...life. Visiting from CE. :)

My husband and I took years before deciding to try for baby number two. When A2 was born, everything was shaken up. It wasn't easy. It still isn't easy now but the joy that the new sibling brings is priceless. There will be crappy days and there will be good days for sure so hang in there.

Hope you're coping with the change ok. My friends who have more than 2 tell me that the change from 2 to 3 children is even bigger because now you have more children running around than adults available to watch over them (assuming the typical family with 2 parents and only occasional grandparent help). Eeks!

Change scare me a bit but I still go ahead and do it. Once I do, it's exciting and I'm always glad I took the chance.

Change is constant. Change is everywhere. People who can adapt pretty much quickly with any change that happens won't have a hard time dealing with it.

Yes embracing the changes is the best way to do. We live in the life that full of changes and surprises so to avoid much more worries maybe the best way is to accept the fact that changes is just around the corner.

"CHANGE will not change for you so we better cope up with what CHANGE has to offer" eventually we'll get used to it.

Change is inevitable. My reaction to change varies depends on what change I have to face :D

I soooo feel you! I have two kids of my own and had a crazy time adjusting to changes in my schedule, in my body, and in everything else. But they're preschoolers now and things have smoothen a bit already. Less crazy life for this mom now.

the best way to react on change would be acceptance and move forward because life goes on. :)

They say that "the only permanent thing in life is change". Nothing in this world is permanent. Everything comes to an end. Sometimes, it's really very hard to cope up with change esp if it would break your heart. But we have to accept life the way God had planned it for us. :)

It depends on the kind of change. Some are easy to live with while others are just difficult to get along with. But if these changes are for one's good, they should be welcomed.
