Red Cliff 2

Taking advantage of our synchronized leave today, Nic & I decided to watch a movie this afternoon.

Now, choosing the right movie can be so difficult… Especially considering our last movie outing was a good three months back.

So many options, but yet so little choice. Haha! Not a lot of movies showing now really appealed to both of us.

So we settled on Red Cliff II (“赤壁” or “chibi”). This movie was out in the theatres since early December! But ah well, better late than never.

Of course, both of us hadn’t seen Red Cliff I, so we quickly rectified that by watching the movie last night on the Internet. Heh!

I really really enjoyed the movie. The sounds, the dramatics, the plot, Takeshi Kaneshiro – it was all very grand and exciting! I’ve never read The Romance of the Three Kingdoms, so my only ‘contact’ with names such as Zhuge-Liang, Cao Cao, Liu Bei, Guan Yu and Zhou Yu was when Nic & I were playing this RPG game on Adam’s PS2!

So this was a good lesson in ancient Chinese history!

Here’s a short trailer of the movie:
