Eat The Frog!

Say what?

Hmmm….

Some of you might have your stomachs churning now.

Me? I kinda like frog porridge. Tastes like chicken. Too much like chicken. Which is why I’d rather just eat chicken porridge. Rather than spending $8 on a bowl of frog porridge.

But *ahem!* back to the topic at hand.

I put this slogan as my MSN nickname for more than a week, after seeing my sis using this phrase! I asked her what she meant by “eat the frog”… She never struck me as a “frog” person! Haha…

So what does it mean?

(And my colleagues will especially enjoy this…) It is the name of a book by Brian Tracy, on 21 keys to stop procrastination. It talks about knowing what the most important task is, get started on that task, and complete it quickly and well.

But still… why “eat the frog”?

Because it has been said… that if the first thing you do each morning is to eat a live frog, you can go through the day knowing that that is probably the worst thing that is going to happen to you all day long! Your “frog” is the biggest, most important task and the one you are most likely to procrastinate on if you don’t do something about it now.

So it can be that laundry or that email or that assignment or that phone call… WHATEVER that frog is… eat it!

And if you have two frogs?

Eat the uglier one first! And discipline yourself to complete eating that uglier frog before moving on to other things.

In other words, start and don’t stop till it is finished.

No need to keep looking!

Another concept is… if you ARE going to eat the frog, it doesn’t pay to sit and look at it very long. Sure wouldn’t make it taste any better!

Hi! Popping over from SITS to visit.

Frogs. I'll never forget the 1st time I ate frog legs in south Louisiana. They were fried, and came served on the platter from the hips down and adjoined - like half a frog's body. Freaked me out, but you're right. It tastes like chicken!

Have a great week!

San-Mary: Thanks for coming by! :) I don't mind the legs of the frog, but conjoined with the body ... *gulp!* Not so much!

San-Grace: Yeah I got a few "???" messages via MSN or people asking if I wanted to eat frog porridge. LOL!

I love this idea! I can put off eating that frog longer than you can imagine.

Same as Grace.... I was kept forgetting to ask u why you want to 'eat that frog'. I find it esp difficult to eat that frog after looking at your frog pics though. *Puke!

San-Debbie & Ali: I admit, I leave that frog 'hanging' there too. I have the ability to forget about that frog in the wink of an eye. So this post is a reminder for me to EAT IT! Haha!

San-Jerb: Issit? I find the pics really nice leh! Hahaha.... (Not to eat them, but to look...)
